Illustration Friday: Influence

Before Youtube kid shows always had some guy
who gave a quick lesson on drawing.
See below Secret City hosted by Mark Kistler.
I'm pretty sure a lot of little artists were inspired by him.

'SECRET CITIES' were Bruce MacIntire's (CA; 1950's) way to teach perspective. If we finished a perspective problem in record time we received membership in the Magic Pencil Club. Bruce would take the first and very expensive video-tape cameras to our schools in San Diego County. Their movement through the halls required a big cart. I was 5 or 6 then. This fellow in the video must have been one of his students.

Thanks Lainey and DSM.
Wow, that's a real interesting story DSM. I think it's great to know that perhaps Mark Kistler might have been inspired by Bruce. According to Mark's bio he was born in Columbus Ohio, but later moved to California. It also says he attended San Diego State University. I'm betting he got to see Bruce. Cool story!
