Illustration Friday: boundaries

Spike had no boundaries
when it came to dog biscuits.

Illustration Friday: Mysterious

I'm a big fan of the Pulp magazines of the thirties, forties

and fifties. For this week I decided to do my own pulp cover

which features a cat detective. Enjoy.

Illustration Friday: disguise

I think he fooled the dog.

Illustration Friday: Influence

Before Youtube kid shows always had some guy

who gave a quick lesson on drawing.

See below Secret City hosted by Mark Kistler.

I'm pretty sure a lot of little artists were inspired by him.

Sometimes you have to say NO.

Illustration Friday: imperfect

The not-so-perfect doghouse.

Hey, it's the thought that counts.

Illustration Friday: obsession

Illustration Friday: perennial

If you live on planet earth you know it's been really

hot everywhere (in the USA). Stay cool fellow bloggers.

See it here. For the Trekkie fans, I know Spock

uses the opposite hand :)

Illustration Friday: asleep

Morris always fell asleep after reading

magazines and books on dogs.

Illustration Friday: soaked

This week it's been raining a lot here in New York.
Despite the downpours I noticed the people in my neighborhood

still walk their dogs. I guess the dogs don't mind the rain.

fantastic artist that is now doing Spy vs. Spy for Mad Magazine.

Take a look at his site here.

Me included. Happy New Year!

It's been pretty windy here in NYC.
No snow yet, but I'm sure it's coming.

Illustration Friday: mail

This is the time of year when Santa loves getting mail.
Santa's helpers, not so much.

Illustration Friday: phenomenon

Last night I saw the GREAT Mad Magazine cartoonist Al Jaffe.
He told some very funny stories about his life as a cartoonist.
He's 89 years old and yes, he still works for Mad Magazine.
I was lucky to purchase an autographed copy of "Tall Tales"

a wordless strip he created in the mid-1950s. If you have the

opportunity drop by The Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art

to see some of his work.
